John Henry Bailey, Jr., 72, passed away on Monday, May 7, 2012 at the Veterans Hospital in Dallas, Texas.
John was born on July 3, 1939 to John Henry Bailey, Sr. and Gladys (Miller) Bailey. He grew up in Arkansas. He proudly served his country for over ten years in the United State Army where he completed four tours to Vietnam.
After serving ten years with the military he also worked for Roach Waste Disposal for ten years as a driver and mechanic. He enjoyed fishing and gambling. He was a family man and he was well known to make the best biscuits and gravy in Texas.
He is survived by one brother, Eugene Bailey and his wife, Mary of Hoxie, Arkansas along with several nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews and several great-great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers; James E. Bailey of Palmer and Harold Bailey of Pleasant Planes, Arkansas.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the J.E. Keever Mortuary in Palmer. A Celebration of his life will take place on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 4 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Palmer with Lay Pastors Andy Pitz and Mark Mitchell officiating. Pallbearers will be John Treadway, James Treadway, Phillip Nobles, Daniel Nobles, Charles Edwards and Lloyd Higdon, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeremy Willis, Bruce Treadway, Brad Rhodes, Christy Morgan and Brandy Hart. Interment will follow in the Palmer Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
