William (Bill) Slovak, 90, passed away on June 30, 2012, in Ennis. He was born to Joe R. and Annie (Kriska) Slovak on June 6, 1922. William was born in Ennis, and remained a resident his entire life, attending Creechville Community School. Later in life he proudly joined the U.S. Army, and was discharged in 1946 with many honors to his name. He rose to the status of Private 1st Class and Medical Aidman. He was granted the Victory Medal and the American Theatre Ribbon.
After his military career he worked many years for F&M Systems and Ruhl Manufacturing. On October 27, 1979, he married the love of his life Mary Stefka. He was a member of the KJT, American Legion, and St. John Church.
William’s greatest love was farming alongside his wife, Mary, and he was most proud of his service in WWII and part of the Honor Flight to Washington D.C.
William is survived by his wife, his sister Lillie Honza, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. on Monday, July 2, 2012 in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. Mass of the Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the St. John Catholic Church of Ennis. Pallbearers will be Danny Slovak, Ron Slovak, Mike Slovak, Tim Slovak, David Slovak and Milton Slovak. Interment to follow in St. Jospeh Cemetery of Ennis under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
