Yuvonne Newman, 98, passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2012 in Ennis, Texas.
Yuvonne was born on October 16, 1913 in Royce City, Texas to Edward C. and Maude E. (Jouett) Murphy. She grew up in Dallas, Texas and graduated from Forest Avenue High School. On November 15, 1940 she married Jack Newman and they made their home originally in Dallas, then to Heath and finally to Ennis in 1974.
She worked for Sears as a secretary for over twenty years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles and crochet.
She is survived by her sons, James R. Newman and his wife, Vicki of Dallas and William J. Newman and his wife, Lydia of Granbury; eight grandchildren: eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jack Newman in 2002 and two brothers.
Visitation will take place on Friday, September 21, 2012 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. Graveside services will take place on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 11 a.m. in Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas with Rev. Keith Murray officiating under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
