Doyle Elece White

Doyle Elece White, 91, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Sunday, March 9, 2014. Doyle was born in Enloe, Texas on September 4, 1922 to Riley Thomas and Sally Lavell (Griffin) Huie. She grew up in the Enloe area and attended school at Enloe High School. She married Johnnie White on August 15, 1942 and they made their home in Ropesville, Texas, then Paris in 1957 and to Ennis in 1958. She worked for the Ennis ISD in the cafeteria and for Claystone Manor Nursing Home in the food service. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. Her grandchildren and great-grand-children were her treasures. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting and reading. She is survived by one son, Roger D. White and wife, Lillian of Emory; daughters: Lacona Sharp of Gallatin, Tennessee and Johnia Neil and husband, Danny of Ennis; six grandchildren: Shelly, Brad, Nisa, John, Jarod and Johnia; one step-grandchild, Cindy; eight great-grandchildren: two step-great-grandchildren: four great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Edsel Huie of Ropesville, TX and one sister, Anne Millsap of Freeport, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, 3 sisters and son-in-law, Jimmy Sharp. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2014 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. A Celebration of her life will take place on Friday, March 14, 2014 at 2 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis with Rev. Ed Huie officiating.
