Adell Jelinek Miklis, 91, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Thursday, March 4, 2021.

Adell was born in Ennis, Texas on June 5, 1929 to Frank and Rosie (Novy) Patak.  She grew up in Ennis and attended St. John School.  Adell married Frank Jelinek on April 19, 1949.  Years later she married Thomas Miklis.

She wa s member of Saint John Nepomucene Catholic Church.  She worked at Sam Houston School and Atlas Sound.  Adell baby sat children and the parents of those children.  She was a member of the VFW#7106 Ladies Auxiliary and also worked as a Bingo attendant for several years.  Also, a member of the KJZT #16, Catholic Daughters of America, and SPJST #25.  She devoted her time to the organizations baking cakes and pies for the Ennis Police Dept and Fire Dept.

She is survived by tow daughters: Pat Budai and her husband, Clayton, Lorraine Clark and her husband, Joe Allen Clark.  Grand children: Corby Callaway and wise, Lindsay, Carmony Bentley and husband, Jason, Aaron Clark and wife, Heather, Lindsey Clark-Fass and husband Chris, Meagan Shorter and husband, Josh. Great-Grandchildren: Reagan Fass, Travis Fass, Malone Bentley, Cal Bentley, Reese Clark, Ellison Clark, Claire Callaway, Charlotte Callaway and Bowen Shorter; sister-in-law, Virginia Patak and several nieces and nephews.

She is proceeded in death by her husbands, Frank Jelinek and Thomas Miklis, parents: Frank and Rosie Patak, one brother, Frankie Joe Patak, 3 sisters: Rosie Zahanel, Mildred Podrouzek and Angeline Heitzman and son-in-law, Buster Callaway.

Visitation and Rosary will be held on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at 9 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at 10 a.m. at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church.  Pallbearers will be Corby Callaway, Aaron Clark, Chris Fass, Jason Bentley, Bobby Prescher and Brian Heitzman. Honorary pallbearer Mark Patak. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
