Agapito Fira, Jr., of Ennis, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2025 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Agapito was born November 11, 1948 in Lockney (Floyd County) Texas, to Agapito Fira, Sr. and Margaret (Rios) Fira.  He and Frances (Rivera) were married in 1971.

Agapito, Jr. was a career US Army veteran who served our country well for over 36 years! He was a small weapons specialist in Vietnam, also serving as Infantry and Paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division. He served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and then the Army National Guard. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

The family relates that "Pop liked fishing, grilling, Western books, SyFy Movies, and oldies music. His favorite actor was John Wayne, so he watched all of his movies. He also loved sitting on his porch, drinking coffee and he loved a good cigarette with a cold beer."

He is preceded in death by his parents Agapito Fira Sr and Margarita Rios.

He is survived by his daughters Misty Gomez and husband, Gilbert and Virginia Ramirez and husband Frank: grandchildren are Zachary Fira and wife, Keke, Kristina Ramirez, Frankee Ramirez, Nico Ramirez, Michael Gomez and wife, Adriana, and Marissa Gomez: great grand children are Toni Fira and Ruby Mobley: Sisters: Angie Garza and husband, Fred, Annie Garcia, and husband, John, Sheila Moreno and husband, Luis, and Teresa Campos, and husband, Albert..

VISITATION will be Tuesday, October 14, 2025 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. in the J. E. Keever Mortuary Chapel, 408 N. Dallas Street, Ennis, Texas.

MASS OF THE CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at 10 a.m. at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Ennis.

INTERMENT will be Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at 2:15 p.m. in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
