Agnes Salik Wilson's Obituary
Agnes Salik Wilson, 96 passed away in Ennis, TX on Sunday, May 17, 2026.
Agnes was born on March 14, 1930 to Emil and Antonio (Petruj) Salik. She grew up in Ennis, TX and graduated from St. John High School in May 1948. On October 25, 1955, she married Charles Leon Wilson and they made their home in Ennis, TX where they raised their three children, Cindy, Glen and Gary.
Agnes was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis. She worked for Ennis Business Forms and Tropar Trophies for many years. Some of Agnes's favorite things were taking an occasional trip to the casino, crossword puzzles, Polka Dancing and listening to Polka Music. One of her greatest joys was her family and she especially loved taking care of her precious grandchildren.
She is survived by sons: Glen Wilson and wife, Janice, Gary Wilson and partner Keri Keeton, Son in Law, Michael Valek and wife Vickie. Grandchildren, Jennifer, Melissa, Lezlie, Ashlee, Jordan, Zachary, Cameran, Averie, Jared, Rachel, and Jeremy. Great grandchildren, Nash, Amelia, Norah, Bodie, Croix, Briel, Rebbeca, Maverick, Leo, Kinsley and Ashley along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Agnes is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leon Wilson, her daughter, Cindy Valek, granddaughter Krista Wilson, sisters: Toni Barto, Alice Whiteley, Wilma Padgett, Georgie Griffin, Lillie Ann Patak, Albina Salik and Mary Ann Salik, brothers: Emil Salik, and Willie Salik.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Legend Oaks Rehab and Nursing Home and everyone at Bristol Hospice for the loving care they provided to their mother.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Rosary at 7 p.m.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 10 a.m. at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church with Father Fred Caldwell as celebrant. Pallbearers will be Michael Valek, Larry Barto, Willie Joe Salik, Buddy Whiteley, David Hunter and Benny Valek. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
