Allen Garrett, 81, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022, in Waxahachie, Texas.

Allen was born in Ennis, Texas on March 8, 1941, to Riley Allen Garrett, Sr. and Mabel (Richardson) Garrett.  Allen grew up in Ennis, Texas, and graduated from Ennis High School in 1961 he went on to attend Navarro College.  On April 8, 1966, Allen married the love of his life, Patricia Evarts and they made their home in Ennis.

Allen worked for R. T. French Company in sales and for Adams Extract in sales for over twenty years.  Allen was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church of Ennis, the Ennis Soccer League, and Pony League Baseball.  Allen was an avid baseball fan; he loved the beach and volleyball.  Allen's family was the light of his life, especially the grandchildren.

Allen leaves behind his loving family including his wife of over fifty-six years, Patricia Garrett; his beloved son, Chris Garrett and his wife, Jennifer; grandchildren: Justin Garrett and Autumn Teague and husband, Trevor; greatgrandchild, Brantley Teague; brother, Floyd Garrett and sister, Jeannie Allison.

Allen is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, William, and sisters: Veda Allison, Lila Walker, Betty Emerson, and Helen Monroe.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2022. From 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.

A Celebration of his life will be held in Myrtle Cemetery of Ennis on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at 10 a.m. with Gilbert Santos officiating under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
