Allen Miles Goss, 84, passed away at his home in Ennis on May 21, 2022. Allen was born July 12, 1937, in Pennsylvania to Harold and Marion Goss. As a child, he moved to La Mesa, California with his parents and brother, Donn.  Allen graduated from Grossmont High School and San Diego State University. He served in the U.S. Army in the early 1960's and later received his Master's and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from the University of Texas in Austin.

At UT, Allen met and married his wife of 55 years, Patsy Watson Goss. He completed post-doctoral work at the VA Hospital and Baylor Hospital in Houston.  He also maintained a private practice and served as Department Chair of Psychology at the University of St. Thomas in Houston.

Allen loved the years they lived on the San Jacinto River in Houston and was an avid water skier.  He also excelled at snow skiing and built their home in Colorado.  Allen was an enthusiast for cats and dogs and Corvettes and motorcycles, as well as football.  He was known for his dry sense of humor.  Allen and Patsy spent summers jeep trailing in the Rockies and visited many national parks.  They moved back to Patsy's hometown of Ennis in 2006.

Allen is preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife, Patsy, his brother Donn, three nieces and their families.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc. in Ennis and are pending at this time.
