Barry Dean Brunk, Sr. passed away in Fort Worth, Texas on December 3, 2024, at 5:50PM.

Barry was born on August 31, 1945, in Millwall, London England to Bailey Dean and Sarah Anne (Mahoney) Brunk. He grew up in Cayuga Texas until 1961 when his Family moved to Henderson, Texas. He graduated from Henderson High School in 1963, then attended Kilgore College and eventually graduated from Stephen F. Austin University with a Bachelor of Science in 1967 and obtained his CPA certification in 1985.
Barry was married twice in his life: 1965 to Jajuana Joy Hudson (Divorced in 1980) and 1985 Glenda Lee Laudon (Widower).

Barry's first son (Barry Jr.) was born in October while Barry Sr. was attending College. Barry's second son (Robert "Bob") was born when Barry worked for Lone Star Gas (Dallas) in 1969. He worked for Moore Business Forms (Denton) in 1971 and then moved to Ennis began his career working at several branches of Ennis Business Forms in 1973 (EBF Plant operations, Connoly Tool, and more). He retired as Director of Finance after 37 years of faithful service from Ennis.COM to spend time supporting the needs of his wife Glenda Lee during her failing health prior to her death.

Barry was a proud member of Ennis Lodge #369 and many other Lodges around the State as a presiding officer of 12 Lodges. He was a 57-year Mason, a Life-Time Certificate holder for the Grand Lodge of Texas and served as a District Deputy in 1981 and 1991, DEO in 1990 and DCO in 1992. He served the Grand Lodge on Grand Lodge Committees and served as the Grand Pursuivant for the Grand Lodge in 2015.

Barry was also a prominent York Rite Mason who served as a presiding officer at Ennis Chapter #135, Ennis Council #81 and Tancred Commandery #82. He proudly represented his Masonic community around the State serving as a Grand Officer, District Deputy, and numerous Committees for multiple York Rite Bodies. He served as Secretary for the Committee on Work for multiple years and eventually served as an elected member of the Committee on Work for the Grand Chapter and Grand Council.

Barry was a 54-year Scottish Rite Mason and served on the 30th Degree team from Ellis County for many years alongside his son. He was also a 52-year Shriner and proud member of Sharon Temple.

Barry embraced his Masonic Career and assisted countless other Masons to become a better man, better friend, better companion, and better brother. Barry was a true mentor for Masons around the State. His own mentor was his Father with whom he shared many Masonic experiences. He was also a mentor for his sons as well as his nephew to follow in his Masonic path. He influenced so many other Masons, some referred to him affectionately as "Uncle Barry" reflecting the familial connection between them. The bonds of friendship and brotherly love existed without a doubt. Barry was meticulous and detailed in life, business, and friendship. He shared his knowledge, experience, and support to the Masons of Texas and strengthened Texas Masonry forever and will be sorely missed by many.

Barry is survived by his two sons, Barry Dean Brunk, Jr.  and wife Sarai, Robert C. Brunk and wife Sonia, his youngest sister Sally Kelsey and brother-in-law Jerry Kelsey, nephew Jeff Bennet and wife Madelyn, niece Holly Coleman and husband Lawrence, nephew Jeremy Kelsey and wife Julie, along with 7 Grandchildren, 13 Great-Grandchildren, 4 Great-Great Grandchildren, and several beloved Cousins both in the US and England, along with many, many friends.

Barry is preceded in death by his Wife Glenda Lee Brunk, Father Bailey Dean Brunk, Mother Sarah Anne Brunk, Sister Christine Bennett, brother-in-law Stan Bennett, stepson Cas Laudon, stepson Matthew Laudon, and Grandson Matthew Alan Brunk.

Funeral Services will be held held on January 25, 2025 at 10 a.m. in the S.P.J.S.T. Hall of Ennis. A Memorial Luncheon will be provided following the services.
