Bessie Zhanel Laznovsky, 93, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Tuesday, September 15, 2020.

Bessie was born on January 24, 1927 in Ennis, Texas to Anton and Mary (Dlabaj) Zhanel.  She grew up in Ennis and attended school in Ennis.  On February 28, 1949 she married Edwin Laznovsky and they made their home in Ennis.

Bessie worked as a server for the Ennis ISD for many years.  She was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, KJZT, SPJST, the Alter Society and the Ennis Sewing Circle.  Bessie enjoyed working puzzles, working with wood, playing chicken foot and sewing.

She is survived by her daughters: Linda Fuller and Margie Hamilton and husband, Stuart; sister-in-law, Marian Zhanel; grandchildren: Wendy Moser, Johnny Laznovsky, Jr., Katrina Evans, Joseph Laznovsky, April Tay, Patricia Laznovsky and Joshua Laznovsky; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews along with extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son, Johnny Laznovsky, Sr.; brothers: John, Frank, Stanley, George, Leslie, Edward and sisters: Lilly, Mary, Annie, Tonie and Geraldine.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 21, 2020 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at 10 a.m. in the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church.  Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.

The family requests in lieu of flowers to please make a donation to the St. Joseph Cemetery in Bessie's name.
