Mrs. Betsy Ruth Timms, 87, passed away Monday, Feb. 14, 2022.  She was born Nov. 15, 1934, in Garrett, Texas, the daughter of Ellis Connelly and Hepzibak (Hepsie) Brill Minatrea.  She grew up in Garrett and attended school in Garrett.  She attended the Baptist church in Garrett.  She married Raymond Timms and they made their home in Garrett, Alma, and Rice.  She lived in the Ennis Care Center for many years.

She was a homemaker and helped Raymond on the farm.  She was fond of all animals, especially horses.  She could calm a horse down when others failed.  Betsy was "an angel on earth".  She loved everyone and was a happy soul.

She is survived by her brother, Ellis Joy Minatrea of Ennis, a niece, and several nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her three sisters: Emma Lee Cryer, Esther Lou Williams, and Nellie Nugent.

Graveside services will be held at 2p.m. on Friday, February 18, 2022 at the Telico Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary.
