Betty Jo Mckenzie, 97, went to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, May 21st, 2024, in Ennis, Texas.

Betty was born on January 11, 1927, in Navarro County to Fred and Annie Mae (Slaughter) Jackson.

Betty was a devoted Christian and prayer warrior. Betty loved reading her bible, going walking, and vacationing. Betty worked for the IOOF Retirement Center for over twenty years as a dietician. Betty was a member of the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs.

Betty was a sister to Joe, Frank, Donna, Ann, Martha, Margie, and Sue. Betty was blessed to be a mother to 8 children: 5 sons and 3 daughters. Jimmy, Thomas, Michael, Scott, Betty, Jan, Lesa and Robert. She was also a grandmother,  great-grand and great-great grandmother to many children.

Her family will hold a graveside service for friends and family on Friday, May 24, 2024, at 10am at Myrtle Cemetery.
