Bill Fred Ludwig, 71, passed away at his home on November 11, 2020.

Bill Fred was born in Ennis, Texas on April 15, 1949 to Fred A. and Betty Jo (Shipley) Ludwig.  He grew up in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School in 1967.  He went on to attend Navarro College.  On September 6, 1980 he married Patti Robinson and they made their home in Alma, Texas.

Bill Fred was a city carrier for the United States Postal Service for over thirty-five years.  Bill Fred was the Past Assistant Chief of the Alma Fire Department and was an Eagle Scout in Troop #210.  Family was the joy of Bill Fred's life.  He was always the first to volunteer with a home repair project or if anyone needed help.  He enjoyed taking care of his cattle, hunting and wood working.

He is survived by his wife, of over forty years, Patti Ludwig; son, Andy Ludwig and his wife, Heather; grandchildren: Abby, Grace, Emma and Harrison; brothers: Chris Ludwig and wife, Barbara and Erik Ludwig and wife, Kelly; sisters: Melinda Ludwig and Debbie Oglesby and husband, Ron along with a host of extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 beginning at 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.

A Celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at 11 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis.  Interment will follow in Myrtle Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation to either the American Diabetes Association or the Alma Volunteer Fire Department, 102 Interurban Road, Ennis, Texas 75119.
