Billy Gene Brasher, 91 passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023, in Ennis, Texas.

Billy was born in Ennis, Texas on August 5th, 1932, to Mardis R. and Minnie Mae (Palmer) Brasher. Billy grew up in Ennis, Texas, and graduated from Ennis High School in 1950. After graduating high school, he went on to continue his education at Navarro College and graduated with an associate degree. On March 16th, 1958, he married the love of his life, Helen White and started their new life together in Ennis, and had two beautiful daughters.

Billy served in the US Army in the Artillery Branch. He went on to work for the Southern Pacific Railroad for 38 years as a civil engineer. Billy was a member of Ellis County Sheriff Posse and Ennis Jaycee. He enjoyed horses, fishing, hunting, and anything outdoors.

Billy is survived by his wife, Helen, and daughters; Donna Monreal and husband, Pete and Sandra Rudd and husband, Kenny, and grandchildren; Cole Monreal and wife, Ellie, Kellen Monreal and wife, Alexis and great grandchildren; Gael, Murphy, Manny, Maze. Brother; Freddy Lee Brasher and wife, Sue.

Billy is preceded in death by his parents and Mardis sister-in-law Virginia Brasher.

Visitation will be held Monday September 18th, 2023, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel in Ennis.

A celebration for the life of Billy Brasher will be held on Tuesday, September 19th, 2023, at 10 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel with pastor Michael Howard officiating.

Pallbearers: Kenny Rudd, Pete Monreal, Cole Monreal, Kellen Monreal, Gael Iglesias, and Van Carter.
