Billy Wood, 91, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 in Ennis, Texas.

Billy was born in Maypearl, Texas on June 3, 1929 to C. L. and Myrtle (Henderson) Wood.  Billy grew up in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School in 1947.  Billy went on to SMU to receive a Bachelor's degree in Real Estate.  On February 26, 1955 he married the love of his life Yvonne Gray and they made their home in Ennis.  Billy served his country proudly in the United States Army serving at Fort Sill in Oklahoma.

Billy worked for the Department of Housing and Urban Development for over twenty years as an appraiser, for the Texas Department of Transportation for five years also as an appraiser and as an Independent Appraiser.  Billy had a true love for being outside where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and especially working with his cattle.  Dominoes were also one of his favorite things to do.

Billy leaves behind a loving family including sons: Mark Wood and wife, Erin, Phillip Wood; daughter, Sondra Bennett and husband, Gary; grandchildren: Matthew Bennett, Jacob Bennett and Mark Isaac Wood along with a host of extended family and friends.

Billy is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Yvonne and his siblings.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 28, 2020 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.

A Celebration of his life will be held on Friday, August 28, 2020 at 2 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Alan Lynch of First Baptist Church of Dallas and Steven Colburn officiating.  Interment will follow in Myrtle Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
