Bonnie Ruth Lowry, 86, of Bardwell, Texas, passed away on September 21, 2022. Bonnie was born on May 6, 1936, to J Bryan Lowry and Vera Irene Lowry in Waxahachie, Texas. She was the youngest of 7 children.

After graduation from high school in 1954. Bonnie went on to study Metallurgical Engineering at the Texas School of Mines (UTEP). Bonnie graduated with honors in 1959 and was the first woman in the state of Texas to have a degree in Metallurgical Engineering. After graduation, Bonnie worked for several major technology companies, including Texas Instruments, Rockwell and Boeing. She paved the way for so many women in the field of engineering.

Bonnie loved spending time with her family and friends. Most of all she loved traveling the world with her sister, Jodie. You could always count on her to partake in a glass of white zinfandel and share her wisdom with you.

We Know that bonnie is enveloped by the love of her family that passed before her, parents (J Bryan and Vera Irene Lowry), siblings (James, Tobe, Calvin and Lit) and honorary family member, Carol McKee. She is survived by her siblings, JB Lowry, Jr. and Jodie Early, as well as a multitude of nieces and nephews.

Visitation and viewing will be held at J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel, 408 N. Dallas St., Ennis, Texas from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 27, 2022. We will have a graveside service on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at 10 a.m. in Elm Branch Cemetery in Bardwell, Texas.

The family would like to thank Spring Lake Assisted Living staff, Paris Hospital staff and Hospice teams for their compassionate care during Bonnie's short stay in Paris, Texas.
