Bonnie J. Roberts, 85, passed away at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas on Monday, October 23, 2023.

Bonnie was born to Dick and Evie Lee (Corbitt) Robinson on July 20, 1938 in Houston County, Texas. She grew up in Crockett, Texas and graduated from Crockett High School. On April 3, 1959 she married James M. Roberts and they made their homes in Dallas, Lubbock, Jackson, MS, and finally in Ennis in 1982.

She was an independent insurance agent and owned her own agency, B-J-R, Inc, dba Accent' Insurance, and was active in the insurance business for over fifty years. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Ennis and active with the Friends of the Library in Ennis.

She is survived by daughters Kathy (Roberts) Parks and her husband Shorty Parks of Ennis, Texas and Sharon (Roberts) Swims of Elgin, Illinois; granddaughters Krista (Roberts) Carlson and husband Joey Carlson of Gilberts, Illinois, Britni Parks of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Ashley Swims of Brighton, Massachusetts, seven nephews, Mike Roberts, Joe Paul Roberts, CW Roberts, James Roberts, Brien Roberts, Dusty Pugh, Bobby Robinson and David Murray, and nieces Pam Pugh, Liz Curry, Angie Musgrove, Cinda Murray and Mindy Vest, four great-grandchildren Landon, Aubree, Maddox and Hudson Carlson. She is preceded in death by her husband, James M Roberts, parents Dick and Evie Lee (Corbitt) Robinson, one brother, Buddy Robinson, and two sisters Jean Pugh and Carol Murray, and one nephew Brad Roberts.

Services will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023 with visitation at 1:00pm, followed by Celebration of Life at 2:00pm at the J.E. Keever Mortuary chapel in Ennis with Zoltan Sandor Kelemen officiating. Interment will follow services at Myrtle Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
