Brenda Louise (Jurica) Vrla passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Brenda was born in Ennis, Texas on November 2, 1946, to Frank E. Jurica and Louise (Macalik) Jurica. On November 2, 1970, Brenda married the love of her life, Milton F. Vrla, Jr., and they made their home in Ennis. She began her career at Southwestern Bell before dedicating her life to raising her children. She was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church. Throughout her life, Brenda was known for her generous heart, always putting the needs of others first and offering unwavering support to anyone in need. She had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel like a member of her family, offering comfort, a listening ear, and warm hospitality to neighbors, friends, and the random stranger she was certain to befriend while out shopping, running errands, or visiting the local library. Brenda had a profound love for animals and cared deeply for her pets. She had a very special place in her heart for her cat, Wally.

Brenda is survived by her loving family including her husband of fifty-four years, Milton F. Vrla, Jr.; son, Brent Vrla; daughter, Brittany Moore and her husband, Kenneth; and sister, Sandra Jurica Williford, several nieces and nephews and other extended family who will miss her dearly.

She is preceded in death by her parents, niece, Adriane Louise Williford, brother-in-law, James A. Williford, sisters-in-law, Shirley (Vrla) Markus and Deanna (Vrla) Houpy; and Milton F. Vrla, Sr. and Albina Vrla.

VISITATION will be held on Monday, September 1, 2025, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis with ROSARY at 7 p.m.

MASS OF THE CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at 10 a.m. in the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis.

INTERMENT will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.

Pallbearers will be: Jonathan Kubena, Michael Kubena, David Markus, Joshua Houpy, Shaun Houpy and Erik Culpepper.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Michael Houpy, Gregory Houpy, Andrew Markus, and Kevin Albury.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Brenda's memory to either the Alzheimer's Association or SPCA of Texas .
