Calvin Grant Mummert, 59, was surrounded by loved ones as he journeyed home to experience the fullness of Christmas in Heaven, December 22, 2023 in Dallas, Texas.

Calvin was born in Dallas, Texas on September 18, 1964, to Ted and Shirley (Chamberlain) Mummert. He grew up in Oak Cliff and moved to Ennis in 1976. He graduated from St. John's Catholic School in 1983. In 1985, he married the love of his life, Tammy Watson. He worked for DCI as a driver and was a member of The Avenue Church.

Calvin was so proud of his boys, Cody and Brice and grandson Kace. He was "Pops" to his little angel, Brandie Erynn and cherished doing what she wanted to do.

In all the things Calvin enjoyed, being outside, hunting, working on projects, building things, spending time with family, he never met a stranger and was always so generous with his time, wit and wisdom.

He will be greatly missed but we know his legacy will be carried on by his wife of 37 years, Tammy Watson Mummert, Sons: Cody Grant Mummert, and wife Danielle Ashford, Brice Wade Mummert and girlfriend Bailey Armstrong, Granddaughter, Brandie Erynn Mummert and Grandson, Kace Lane McDaniel. He is also survived by his brother, Floyd Mummert and wife Stephanie and Phil Mummert and wife Debbie, sisters, Paula Doyle and husband John, Marsha Dunn, Susie Saling and husband Dennis, Pam King and husband Jerry, and Mary Podraza, Mother-in-Law, Trixi McManus, and numerous niece and nephews.

He goes home to join his parents, Ted and Shirley Mummert, two brothers, Bruce Mummert and Michael Ted Mummert, Sister, Sharlene Mummert, Brother-in-Law, Troy Dunn, Good Friend, Wes Hammond, several grandparents, aunts and uncles.

Calvin's generosity extends past his life by giving the beautiful gift of life to many others this Christmas, as he was a registered organ donor.

Visitation will be held at J. E. Keever Mortuary in Ennis, TX on Friday, December 29th, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 30th at 10:00 a.m. at J. E. Keever Mortuary, with interment following at Myrtle Cemetery, Ennis, TX.

Pallbearers are sons, Cody Mummert, Brice Mummert, brother, Floyd Mummert, grandson, Kace McDaniel, nephews: Chris Mummert and Clayton Mummert and good friend, Lance Ueberroth.
