She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Vicki Owens, Roxanne and husband Ricky McElhaney, Melody and husband Van Baird: Grandchildren: Crystal Edgell and fiancé John Hood, John and Cari Gallagher, Ryan and Adrian Chapman, Shane and Emily Chapman, Daniel Chapman, Ricky and Shirley Chapman, Brandon and Chelsey Chapman, Ashley and Trent Gainey, Charlie and Brandi McElhaney, Jimmy and Rebecca McElhaney, Britni and Danny Medina, Cody Baird; 26 great grandkids, 1 great-great grandson Armani Sparks.

Sister, Dorthy Markham and brother, Royce Gothard and sister-in-law Martha Gothard, as well as numerous relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her wonderful loving husband, Buddy Chapman; Her two sons: Tom Chapman, Jr. and Ricky Chapman, Sr. Her brothers: Thomas Gothard and Jerry Gothard; Her two sisters: Doris Bass and Judy Turney, as well as her loving parents, Roy and Ruby Gothard.

Carolyn enjoyed going to the casino with her daughters, going to her grandkids ball games, and spending time with her sister and brother reminiscing over their childhood. After retiring she spent her time at the Softball fields, Walmart and Dollar Tree.

A visitation will be held from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at J. E. Keever Mortuary, Inc. 408 N. Dallas St, Ennis, Tx 75119 . The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on April 15, 2021 at the same location. Interment will follow in Palmer Cemetery on Lamar Street in Palmer, Texas under the direction of J. E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
