C.B. Hart, 94, passed away Friday, March 17, 2023. He was born November 4, 1928, to Cornelius Hart and Grace Gibbs in Dallas. He graduated from Lancaster High School in 1946, then earned his degree in accounting from SMU.

On January 10, 2002, he married Joyce Ann Purdy. He served as a U.S. Merchant Marine from 1940-1948. He served in the United States Army from 1950-1952 and saw combat in World War II, in the Pacific and Atlantic Theatres.  He then went on to work for the U.S. Postal Service, and worked for the U.S. Department of Defense for 27 years as a CPA, and was also a rancher in Bristol.

He was a member of the American Legion and loved vegetable gardening and fishing.

He is survived by his wife Joyce Hart, sons; Bruce Hart, Gary Hart, and Dwayne Shurgart, daughter Debbie Eckart, Brother Johnny Hart, and sister Shirley Noyes, with numerous nieces and nephews and six grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 21, 2023, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel in Ennis, Texas.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, in the J.E. Keever Mortuary chapel on March 22, 2023, at 11 a.m. Internment will follow in Bristol Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary.
