Cecilia G. Ornelas, 81, passed away in Waxahachie, Texas on Tuesday, August 11, 2020.

Cecilia was born on February 4, 1939 in Mariana, Zacatecas, Mexico to Refugio and Juana (Perez) Guerrero.  She grew up in Mexico.  In January of 1960 she married Jose Ornelas Duran, Sr. and they moved to Bardwell in 1982.

Cecilia was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker.  She was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis.  She enjoyed crochet and was a sweet and loving lady.

Cecilia is survived by her husband of sixty years, Jose Ornelas Duran, Sr.; sons: Morelos Ornelas, Roberto Ornelas, Margarito Ornelas, Jose Guadalupe Ornelas and Jose Ornelas, Jr.; daughters: Victoria Ornelas and Irene Hernandez; twenty-five grandchildren: twenty-eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Fortunato Guerrero and a multitude of extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a son, Lupe Ornelas.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2020 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis with Rosary at 7 p.m.

Mass of the Christian Burial will take place on Monday, August 17, 2020 at 10 a.m. in St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis with Father Agustin Fuertes as Celebrant.  Interment will follow in Elm Branch Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
