Charles John “Charlie” Vrzalik, 88, passed away in Ennis, Texas, on Thursday, September 24, 2026.

Charlie was born in Ennis, Texas, on November 10, 1937, to Charles Frank and Julia Marie (Vinkler) Vrzalik.

Charlie grew up in Ennis and attended school there. On June 7, 1958 he married Josephine Gunn and they made their home in Ennis.

Charlie worked as a machinist for Leggett and Platt for many years and also for Atlas Sound. Charlie was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church and KJT. Charlie enjoyed flying and building model airplanes, working on the farm and tinkering with his old John Deere tractors as well as fishing and camping.

Charlie is survived by his daughter, Donna Stagner and husband, Randy; grandson Justin Cole Dodson and wife Korey; great-grandchildren: Bentley Dodson and Aston Dodson.

Charlie is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Josephine Vrzalik and brother, Lee Roy Vrzalik.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel in Ennis.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at 9 a.m. in St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis with Father John Dick as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Crisp Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
