Christopher Lee Cooper, age 42, of Arlington, Texas passed away on October 16, 2021 surrounded by his family.

Chris was born on September 22, 1979 to Tim and Janice Cooper in Corsicana, Texas. He grew up in Ennis and attended Ennis schools where he graduated in 1998. After graduation he attended Navarro College and The University of North Texas where he graduated in 2002. After graduating from college Chris worked as a store manager for Saltgrass Steakhouse and later found his way to Progressive Insurance. He was a claims adjustor for Progressive where he worked for 16 years.

During Chris' junior year in high school he met the love of his life, Zenaida Rodriguez. In 2005 he and Zenaida were married in Ennis and then made their home in Arlington. They welcomed their beautiful daughter Kaylee in January 2009. Kaylee was the apple of Chris' eye and she was also her daddy's biggest fan.

Chris was a wonderful loving son, husband, father and brother. He enjoyed spending time with his family and various activities including soccer, fishing and football. Chris played soccer in his early years and continued playing until he was an adult. He also loved fishing especially when he was able to do it with his dad and brother. Family was so important to Chris and he especially loved coming to visit when it included homemade cookies or a cake made by his mom. He was a member of Walnut Ridge Baptist Church.

Chris is survived by his wife Zenaida, his daughter Kaylee, his parents Tim and Janice Cooper, his brother Adam and his wife Heather, his niece Harper and nephew Colt as well as numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and nieces. Chris is preceded in death by his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lee Cooper, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Doherty, as well as his uncle Gary Doherty and aunts Ruby Nell Cooper and Margaret Doherty.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, October 25, 2021 at 2 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis officiated by Brady Blevins and Jim Pollard. Interment will follow in Myrtle Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.

Donations in memory of Chris can be made towards Kaylee's college fund which is held at Prosperity Bank.
