Crystal Lucille Hernandez,

Passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by close family and friends on August 16, 2021. She was born in Cuero, Texas on October 3, 1973, to Rita Rudd and Billy Boyette. The family moved to Ennis in 1974, where she would remain the rest of her life. Crystal was full of energy, positivity, and lived for her family and friends. She enjoyed participating in CrossFit, seeing her grandkids, going on family vacations, and getaways with her husband, Eddie.

Crystal married Eddie Hernandez (her buddy as she calls him) on August 30, 2014. Together, the two would set a strong foundation in raising their four boys, Reuben (B.R.), Roger, Eric, and Jacob. She loved supporting them by attending sports games, band recitals, and concerts as her boys grew into men.

Being a hard and dedicated worker, Crystal would work a long career of nearly 30 years at Walmart in Ennis, in multiple departments, making many friends along the way. Crystal loved improving her daily life through fitness, and education. Not just for herself but also to make her family proud of her. In 2017, she would return to Navarro College, where she would work to receive her G.E.D.

Crystal is survived by her husband, Eddie Hernandez of Ennis; mother, Rita Rudd of Lake Fork; sons, Reuben (B.R.), Roger, Eric Montemayor, and their wives all of ennis. Bonus son, Jacob Lusk of Nacogdoches; Sisters, Tammy Vasquez and husband Alex of Garland, Tracy Williams and husband Jason of Waxahachie; and Casey Benner of Ennis; Aunt, Cathy King and husband David of Palmer; Uncle Wayne and wife Deborah Godwin of Lake Fork; Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and grandkids (her babies) Kynslee, Westyn, Alysse, Ayla, Rylie, Kamille, Olivia, Ezra, and Kortez.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents Charlie and Lucille Godwin; father, Billy Boyette; Stepdad, David Rudd; Uncle Donald Godwin; Aunt Doris Godwin; and Brother-in-law, Billy Benner.

The family would like to extend a huge thank you for the love and support to all her family, friends, and the local community. The family invites everyone to join them for the visitational viewing at J.E. Keever Mortuary on Sunday, August 22, 2021, from 3-5 p.m., and funeral services Monday, August 23, 2021, at J.E. Keever Mortuary at 10:00 a.m, with a burial service to follow at Myrtle Cemetery. All officiating done by Pastor Raymond Richardson of Foundation of Life Church.
