David Lynn Duke, 74, of Ennis, Texas passed away on November 8, 2023.

He was born on September 28, 1949, to Oran and Nellie Duke. He grew up in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School in 1969. After graduating high school, he served for the U.S. Army in Japan. David went on to work for the Texas Highway Department for 35 years, and Ellis County for 10. He was a member of Anthony Drive Baptist Church. David enjoyed gardening, coin collecting, and was a vendor at Canton's first Monday's.

David is survived by his sister Ethel Brown and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great, great nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Billie Sue Duke, Johnny H. Duke, and Nellie Pearl Morer,

A visitation will be held in honor of David at the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel in Ennis on Monday November 13, 2023, from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.

A celebration of his life will take place on Tuesday November 14, 2023, at 10 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel in Ennis.  Interment will be in Myrtle Cemetery, Ennis, Texas under the direction of J. E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
