David Brent Matthews, age 78, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 5th 2021. Brent was born on March 6th 1943. He was born to J.D Matthews and Claudia Matthews. He was a U.S veteran and was to married Gardenia Louise Matthews. He had one daughter, Dawn Matthews Post and was survived by his grandchildren Thomas Post Jr and Renae Post, great grandchildren, Brooke, Thomas, and Noah Post. He was a God fearing man that loved as our savior Jesus Christ does. He was a very humble and kind man. Full of joy, laughter, and happiness. He was a member of Fundamental Baptist Church in Palmer, TX. He loved spreading The Word of God to others. His hobbies included leather crafting, photography, and spending time with his dogs. We lost a great man but gained a great warrior of Christ. Until we meet again.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.

A Graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at 10 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Gary Miller officiating under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
