Debra Jean Smith "Debbie", 70 of Ennis, Texas was born the first of six children on July 23, 1954 to Dan & Margaret Anthony of Byrd, Texas. Debra was a charter member of Anthony Drive Baptist Church and attended until her health would no longer allow.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend whose life revolved around her family. From late night card games to cooking Sunday lunches with Mama and the girls, she cherished every moment spent with those she loved.

She delighted in cheering on her Cowboys and Rangers with Daddy and the boys, and she never missed a chance to share a little gift to remind someone how special they were to her.

Debra supported her children in everything they did, always there, no matter what. From Friday night walks to Blockbuster, to skateboarding in the kitchen, she was by their side, encouraging and loving them unconditionally. She loved staying up late playing Tetris and making homemade chocolate pudding with the kids, and she meticulously kept track of every date and milestone so no birthday or anniversary would ever be forgotten.

Debra was your biggest cheerleader, always boasting about your achievements before you even shared them. She listened without judgment, offered unwavering support, and lit up the room the moment she saw her children, grandchildren, or any family member. She was a beacon of light, always ready with a hug, always excited to see you, and always reminding you how loved you truly were.

Debra is preceded in death by her brothers Edwin Anthony, James Anthony and father Dan Anthony.

She is survived by her mother Margaret Anthony (Slagle) of Ennis, Texas, her devoted loving husband of 42 years Terry Smith, son Terry Justin Smith, daughter Teresa Smith, granddaughters Harper Lewis and Alexandria Smith, brothers Joe Anthony and Billy Anthony, sister-in-law Penny Anthony and sister Patricia Wallace (husband Ben Wallace), nieces and nephews, Austin Anthony (wife Jacqueline), Gwen Anthony and her MAC, Marshall Wallace, Alyssa Wallace and Charles Wallace.

VISITATION for Debra will be held Wednesday July 2, 2025 from Noon until 2pm at J.E. Keever Mortuary, 408 N. Dallas Street, Ennis, Texas 75119 followed by a CELEBRATION OF LIFE starting at 2pm. with Rev. Jerry Fulton officiating. Pallbearers will be Terry Smith, Terry Justin " TJ" Smith, Teresa Smith, Joe Anthony, Billy Anthony and Ben Wallace. Interment will take place in Elm Branch Cemetery in Bardwell under the direction of J. E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
