Donald Keith Dudley passed away peacefully in his home Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at the age of 80 years young.

Don was born to Dorthy and Emmett Dudley September 12, 1942 in Vernon, Texas. He grew up with his brothers and attended school in Vernon, Texas. He met the love of his life, Janice Davis, in Electra, Texas and soon married on June 1, 1963. They had two beautiful girls, Donna,and Jalena.

Don was a welder contracted through Texas Company for 19 years before moving to Ennis,Texas in 1981. He served as a police officer for Dallas County and later owned a trucking company, Dudley Trucking, for many years.

Don was a very loving and giving man. He dedicated his life to his family that he loved so dearly. The life that he shared was a gift to us all. The way he loved his family will be forever remember. His brilliant ideas and the way he viewed life will be with us forever. He enjoyed many things in life like learning to play the guitar, the banjo and mandolin. You could always find him in his workshop. He loved woodworking, and critiqued everything to perfection that he built. The amazing talents that he had will be treasured always, whether it be his drawings or the countless projects that he made from wood. His artistic abilities were incredible but it was a hobby to him and he enjoyed it so much.
You would never see him without a smile on his face, he never met a stranger, and he always had a joke to tell or an idea to share.

Don is survived by his wife Janice Dudley and their two children Donna Stulen, and husband Rich and Jalena Mcneel. Five grand children Laci Norton and husband Bryan, Hayli Thompson and husband Jeremy, TaylorClements and husband Josh, Dillon Cook and wife Samantha and Noah Mcneel. He was blessed with 10 great grandchildren Nevaeh, Baylor, Zayden, Drayten, Blakley, Bentley, Ema Grace, Ryder, Tate & Brett.

Don Is proceeded in death by his mother Dorthy Smith and Father Emmett Dudley, two brothers Raymond Dudley and Larry Gene Franklin.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2023, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis

A Celebration of his life will be held on Monday, May 22, 2023, at 2 p.m. in the Foundation of Life Church of Ennis.
