Donald Lee Highfill, 78, died Monday, September 7, 2020.

Don is preceded in death by his parents, Opal and Jewell Highfill, and brothers, Bill Highfill and Chet Highfill.

Survivors include wife, Peggy Highfill of Runaway Bay, Texas; sons, Terry Highfill of Runaway Bay, Texas; Joey Highfil and wife, Cindy, of Runaway Bay, Texas; and daughter, Karen Burns and husband, Paul, of Palmer, Texas.   Don is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Don was born in Fort Worth, Texas on February 17, 1942.  He and Peggy were married on June 8, 1961 in Saginaw, Texas.  Don served for a period of time in the US Army National Guard from 1961 to 1962.

Some of Don's favorite pastimes were camping and fishing, with many weekends being spent with his sons on the lake.  Don enjoyed laughing and telling stories with his family and friends, including his "When I win the lottery.,." talks. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.

To fulfill Don's final wishes, the family will not be holding public services.
