Donna Livingston Horan passed away on December 17, 2022, surrounded by loved ones in her last days. She was born in St. Clair Shores, Michigan on April 30, 1945. She grew up in Michigan and shared many stories, such as ice skating on ponds with her brother Bill and sister Karon.

Donna graduated high school and worked for Leggett & Platt in Detroit for many years. She met Gene Horan while working in Detroit and they were married in November 1976. Shortly after they moved to Ennis to be closer to Gene's family. Donna continued working for Leggett & Platt in Dallas at that time.

Donna and Gene welcomed their only child, daughter Lauri, into the world in May 1979. She was the light of Donna's life. Donna was given the opportunity in 1981 to work closer to home and began as a secretary at Ennis Senior Citizens Center. The center was newly constructed, and Donna started with a card table desk and a folding chair. She worked for Ennis Senior Citizens Center for 34 years becoming manager and leading its expansion with the addition of the Senior Citizens Apartments. She was a precious resource to countless tenants, advocating for them and helping them with whatever was needed.

Donna became "Granny" by welcoming her granddaughter, Jolie, into the world in May 2014. She and Gene moved to the Clear Lake area in 2018 to be closer to their daughter and her family. This allowed them to spend quality time together, gathering for meals often and going on yearly beach vacations together. Donna loved her family fiercely, unconditionally and supported them through the highs and difficulties of their lives without fail. She will be missed greatly.

Donna is survived by her husband Gene Horan of Clear Lake, daughter Lauri and her husband Thad Urquhart of Seabrook, loving granddaughter Jolie Urquhart, brother Bill Livingston, sister Karon Pieniak and special friend and caregiver Alexandra Pennington.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary. Visitation will be on Wednesday December 21 at 1pm with a memorial service to follow in the chapel at 2pm.
