Dorothy Ann Spicer, 64, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, March 4, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

Dorothy was born in Cedartown, Georgia on July 7, 1957. The daughter of J.E. and Clara Ross. She was one of 8 children including her twin brother who died around birth. Her siblings nicknamed her "DOT".

She married and had four children. Chris, Mike, Adrienne and Jessica. She was primarily a stay at home mom working at her then husband's business when needed. Around 1998, Dorothy took a sales job at Temp Glass in Grand Prairie and excelled for many years there. She then took employment with American cooler in Arlington and was highly recognized at both jobs with exceptional work ethic. She really loved working. She was also A Sunday school teacher with St. John's Catholic Church for many years.

Dorothy met Kenneth Spicer in 2004 and they married soon after. Together they took over and owned the Red Moon in Ennis for many years. They contributed to raising money for so many others in need and was a huge steppingstone for many bands. Dorothy loved visiting with every patrons/artist that would come through there to eat and enjoy live music. Dealing with her own health issues she took time away from their business to take care of her mother Clara who lived with them until her passing in 2011.

Dorothy fought and battled Parkinson's disease for roughly 15 years. She hardly ever complained or thought of herself. She would always put others first. She loves taking care of her family. Her kids were her life. She really enjoyed cooking, thrift shopping, playing darts, eating sweets, taking trips to the casino to win big money and just being around her family and friends. Dorothy was known to have the biggest heart and was truly loved by many. She was very strong in her faith and pass that on to her children. She was an amazing mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, grandma and great grandma.

Dorothy is survived by her husband Kenneth Spicer of Ennis. Her four children: Chris and wife Susan, Mike and wife RaeAnn, Adrienne and husband Kevin and Jessica. Step-children: Dana and husband Dhanald, Jennifer and husband Eddie, Nick and wife Jamie, Michelle and husband Nick and John and wife Morgan. Her grandchildren: Jared, Hunter, Jessica, Michael, Noah, Krista, Ellie, Jesse, Jackson, Blayne, Taylor, Clinton, Nolan, Kennedy, Baylor, Dylan, Parker, Easton and Sam. Great-grandchildren: Nicolas, Cooper, Paxton, Quaid with another precious one on the way.

She is also survived by her siblings. Brenda and husband Brian, Jimmy Ross, Dallas and wife Wendy, Gary and wife Terry, Mike and wife Larissa and Tracy and husband Maurice. Sister in law Margaret and husband Ricky, Brother-in-law Doug and wife Anita. Along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents in J.E. and Clara Ross and her twin brother.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 11, 2022, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at 10 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Rev. Michael Howard officiating.
