Our beloved mother, Mamaw, and great-grandma died on October 20, 2024. She was born on April 16, 1939, in Neosho, Missouri to Doy and Marno Porter. Although she was an only child and her father passed away when she was an infant, she grew up in the loving care of her mother, grandmother, and aunts. She graduated from Neosho High School in 1957.

Doylene accepted Christ as her Savior as a teenager and her faith in God was prominent in her life. She was a Bible teacher and prayer warrior for so many friends and family. She was a teaching leader in Bible Study Fellowship for several years and taught many other Bible studies and Sunday School classes throughout her lifetime.

Doylene will be remembered by her family for her infectious laugh and beautiful smile. She loved reading, crocheting, and sitting on her porch in the country watching her hummingbirds and the cows. She will also be remembered for her wonderful homemade rolls and delicious fried chicken.

She was preceded in death by her son, David Boese. Her surviving children are Pam Manganaro, Sandra Berneking, and Steve Boese. She has 9 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren who were very precious to her.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, October 26th at 2:00 PM at the Keever Mortuary located at 408 N. Dallas St. in Ennis, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Gideons International at www.gideons.org or by calling 1-866-382-4253.
