Eddie "Carl" Hutchison, 75, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas.

Carl was born in Clarksville, Texas, on October 27, 1950, to Eddie Christian and Marie Elizabeth (Davis) Hutchison. Carl graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1969 and went on to graduate from Sam Houston State University with a degree in Music Education. After several years of being a High School Marching Band Director he went back to school to receive his Masters in Christian Education from the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth. He served as music minister in several churches.

On May 27, 1978, Carl married the love of his life, Elaine Anthony, of Ennis, Texas and they made their home originally in Fort Worth, Texas, then to Huntsville, Texas and finally to Burleson where they remained.

Carl was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Burleson where he loved playing percussion in the Praise Team. Carl was a multi-talented musician. He loved playing multiple instruments and had a passion for teaching others to love music as he did. Carl had been a member of the Fort Worth City Band; he taught high school band and elementary music (where he was known as "Mr. H"); he taught private lessons and also taught music classes at the Burleson Senior Citizens Center. Carl's impact on the lives of those he taught and worked with will live on due to his love for music and people. Carl loved to travel with friends and family. Over the years they enjoyed many trips and cruises. Carl was a "piddler". He loved gardening, woodworking, coin collecting, repairing musical instruments and making Christmas decorations.  Carl loved teaching his grandsons to fish, cook and woodwork and attended as many sports events for them as he was able. Carl enjoyed his time spent at the Burleson Senior Center visiting, teaching and playing Bingo!

Carl is survived by his wife of 48 years, as of May 27, Elaine Hutchison; his son, Jay Christian Hutchison and his wife, Stephanie; his two grandsons that were the light of his life: Shawn "Crutcher" Hutchison and Kase Aron Hutchison; his extended family along with friends and a multitude of former students.

Carl is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Henry Adrian "Pete" Farley.

Memorial services will be held on July 11, 2026, at 10 a.m. in his church where he loved to participate in praising the Lord, Oak Grove Baptist Church, 12351 Oak Grove Road S in Burleson, Texas 76028 with Dr. Brady Lock and Rev. Steve Bechwith officiating..
