Edith Maria Gonzalez Overall died peacefully February 15th, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 30, 1928, in Maracaibo, Venezuela to Emigdio Gonzalez Pacheco of Santiago, Venezuela and to Trina Elena Vargas whose family came from the Canary Islands. Edith was one of nine children whose bond as siblings was strong and vibrant.

Edith is preceded in death by her husband Jay Overall of 58 years. They met while he worked at the Mene Grande Oil Company in Venezuela. They married May of 1951 and had two sons and two daughters. They settled in Oak Cliff where she was a homemaker who built a home of love and peace. The door to her house was always open to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed taking walks and loved to crochet, especially when her grandchildren wanted her to teach them to crochet; and there was always a well-tended cat lurking about!

She attended Kimball Free Methodist Church for many decades yet remained faithful to her Catholic heritage. She made sure her children were raised in the church. Edith and her husband Jay raised four successful children and she enjoyed being "Grandma", in fact, she succeeded in being a terrific Grandma!

Edith will be remembered for her sense of humor and for her love of family. She demonstrated to those around her what being a virtuous woman meant; what raising children in a peaceful home meant; and what having a simple heart of faith in God meant.

Edith leaves behind her four children: Kerry and wife Sharon, Dean and wife Lynette, Susan and husband Ed, and Rebecca (Becky) and husband Scott. Her beloved grandchildren: Michael, Keri, Sarah, Stephanie, Caleb, Joseph, Drew, Moriah, Katherine, Caroline, Canyon and Copper. Her great-grandchildren: Emily, Zachary, Elizabeth, Cameron, Weston, Maxwell, Oliver and Hazel.

We would like to honor Susan and Ed who opened their home to Edith in the last years of her life and provided such wonderful care. Susan and Ed have demonstrated the true sense of Christian love.

For now, until we meet again, we say goodbye to our beloved Mother and Grandma. She will be buried at Brigham Cemetery in Campbell, Texas next to her husband Jay Overall in a private family service.

And oh yeah, Dean was her favorite child.
