Edward Luksa, 94, passed away in Dallas, Texas at Walnut Place Assisted Living where he was very socialable and had many friends on Thursday, May 27, 2021.

Edward was born in Ennis, Texas on May 27, 1927 to John and Louise (Slovacek) Luksa.  He grew up in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School.   Edward served his country proudly in the United States Navy during World War II.

Edward was married to the love of his life Martha Ellen Wilson for over sixty years.

Edward worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad as a Roundhouse Supervisor for over forty years.  He was a member of the Sunbeam Club and the American Legion.  Edward enjoyed collecting anything vintage, and loved traveling especially cruising.

Edward is survived by daughters: Denise Smith and Cherie Collard; five grandchildren: Melissa Hatcher, Taren Toth, Garrick Smith, Taylor Walter and Brantley Smith; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews along with a host of extended family and friends.

Edward is preceded in death by his wife, Martha Luksa, his parents; brothers: Johnny Luksa and Raymond Luksa, sister, Lillian Goodwin and a very special sister-in-law, Roy Dean Luksa who was very close to him and looked after him providing him many home cooked meals.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary.

Chapel services will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 2 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis.  Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery at a later time due to weather conditions.
