Edward Steve Mensik, 83, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Monday, March 7, 2016.

Edward was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 17, 1932 to Steve J. and Mary (Simik) Mensik. He graduated from St Rita High School in Chicago. On June 21, 1953 he married Eleanor Zuncic after their marriage they lived in Chicago. He served his country proudly in the United States Army.

He worked for the City of Ennis for over eighteen years in the Water Treatment Department. He was a member of the KJT, SPJST, R.V.O.S. and the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Mensik; son, Steven Mensik and wife, Ginger; daughters: Kathy L. Trojacek and husband, David and Annette Hornik and husband Robert; four grandchildren: Amanda Ford and husband, Kevin, Alaina Goldstein and husband, Kevin, Michael Trojacek and fiancé, Anna Wavrusa and Thomas Trojacek and wife, Meghan; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters: Vera McEwen and husband, Norman and Marian Kwilos and niece, Stephanie McEwen.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary or Ennis.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 3 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis.

The family requests if you would like to make a memorial in Edward's name that you consider the American Cancer Society.
