Edward Russell Ramsey was born February 4, 1957 in Ennis, TX to Scot and Cynthia Ramsey, and welcomed his baby sister Sherry, 17 months later.  Ed was raised in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School on May 26, 1976.  Ed enlisted in the United States Air Force on April 5, 1976, and left the Air Force in 1980 as a Sgt Tactical Aircraft Maintenance Specialist.  Ed married Julie Sinclair in 1977 became a proud father of Aaron in 1978 and Tara in 1979.

Ed (Edward, Eddie, Poppy, Granddad) gave his life to the Lord and was baptized in 1974.  In 1975 he went on a youth choir tour and began in various ministries the late 80's. He began teaching Sunday School in 1992. In 1994 he went with the Tabernacle youth on a mission trip where he felt the call to full time ministry and began preaching in Telico that December.  In 1995 he began attending Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  He then became a supply preacher for several churches ending at Friendship Baptist Church.  He went on mission trips to Brazil and Lithuania and was involved in various prison ministries.  In 2011 he married Susan Henderson and he became co-pastor of Friendship Baptist Church.

Ed enjoyed spending time with family, playing board games, playing the guitar, sharing meals, telling dad/pastor jokes, and sneaking sweets behind Susan's back.  He and Susan, mostly Susan, transformed their backyard into their own eco system with plants, animals, fish, and more.

Ed is preceded in death by his grandson Johnathan Ramsey, father Scot Ramsey and mother Cynthia Ramsey, and mother-in-law Edith Overall.

He is survived by his loving wife Susan, sister Sherry Musmar and husband, Frank, children Aaron Ramsey, Tara Washburn and husband Ronnie Jr., Caleb Henderson and wife Chelsea, Joseph Henderson and wife Katie, Drew Henderson and wife Brenda, and Moriah Henderson.  Grandchildren Alyssa Houston and husband CJ, Eric Ramsey, Connor Washburn, Elizabeth, Maxwell, Cameron, Oliver, Weston, Hazel, Paxton, and Zoey Henderson, and great granddaughter Clara Joy Houston coming soon.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 24th at 11:00 am at Friendship Baptist Church , 1101 S. Hall St., Ennis, TX, and officiated by Bro. Bert Sigala.
