Eleanor Zuncic Mensik, 92, passed away in Ennis, Texas, on Wednesday, July 9, 2025.

Eleanor "Ellie" Zuncic Mensik was born March 22. 1933 in Chicago, Illinois to Steve Zuncic and Agnes (Jarolem) Zuncic. On June 21, 1953, she married Edward Mensik and to this union 3 children were born: Steve, Kathy and Annette.

Ellie's love for animals began when she was a little girl growing up on a farm. She loved all creatures, but her favorite was always horses. Time passed as it does, and Ellie found the Lord and she was forever devoted to Him and dedicated her life to Him. She is at peace with our Lord and Savior. This was always the prayer of the family for her to have that peace that only Jesus Christ can give us in this life and the next.

Ellie is survived by her 3 children: Steven Mensik and wife, Ruthie, Kathy Trojacek and her husband, David and Annette Hornik and her husband, Robert; her grandchildren: Alaina (Mensik) Goldstein, and husband Kevin, Amanda Trojacek Ford and husband, Kevin, Michael, Thomas Trojacek; great-grandchildren: Kellen Goldstein, Zackary Goldstein, DJ Goldstein, Kayla Goldstein, Harper Trojacek, Lukas Ford, Nicholas Ford, Toby Ford, Rosemary Ford, Eliza Ford and Matt Ford.

Ellie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edward Mensik, daughter-in-law, Ginger Mensik.

The family wishes to give a special thanks to 3 Oaks Hospice nurses: Mary, Kiki, Donna and, Laytoya who took such special attention and care for our mom.

She is at peace.

The family will have a private gathering at a later date.
