Emily Miller Jacobie

Emily Jacobie passed away at the age of 102. Emily was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on March 14,1920 and died in Dallas, on April 13, 2022.

Emily attended the University of Texas and graduated from Southern Methodist University and was a proud member of the Pi Phi Sorority. Emily and her husband Roy (deceased) met at The University while Roy was attending Law School.

Roy and Emily married in 1942. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, Roy volunteered to join the Navy and he and Emily left for Palo Alto and lived there until 1945.

After Roy completed active duty, he and Emily, and their young son Roy, Jr. returned to Texas and settled in Dallas. It was in Dallas where their second son Hollis was born.

Roy and Emily were charter members of Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church, members of the Dallas Country Club, and Emily was a member of the Women's Club of Dallas and the Junior League.

Emily was predeceased by her husband Roy, her son Roy, Jr., and her grandson Randy.

Emily and Roy had celebrated 64 years of marriage at the time of Roy's passing.

Emily is survived by her son Hollis and his wife Zoe; Roy Jr's children Laura Jacobie, Jennifer Ewing and Mimi Jacobie, as well as Hollis' children son Jeff, wife Camille and son Chris, and wife Melendy. Emily had a large and loving family of nieces and nephews and her very special Great Grandchildren Ryan Ewing, Elizabeth Ewing, Murphy Jacobie, Campbell Jacobie and Hannah Jacobie.

The family is ever so grateful to her loving and caring staff led by Janice Brooks, who made it possible for Emily to remain in her home.

A Graveside Service will be held Monday, May 16th at 11:00 am at Sparkman Hillcrest Cemetery, 7405 West Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX 75225.
