Erma Ruth Hill, 85, went home to meet her Savior, Jesus Christ early on Friday, October 18, 2024, from Ennis, Texas.

Erma was born in Sulphur Bluff, Texas, on January 4, 1939, to Gus Ish and Lillian (Tillery) Ward. Erma grew up in Johnstown, Texas. On July 21, 1973, she married Rev. Kenneth Hill, and she served faithfully by his side in the ministry.

Erma worked for Ennis ISD for twelve years as a teacher's aide. Erma had a heart that loved everyone she met and wanted to share the love of her Lord with everyone.

Erma is survived by her daughter, Debra Morton; grandsons: Trae Morton and Kyle Morton; granddaughter, Adrienne Waples; great-grandchildren: Kylie Morton, Landen Morton, Logan Morton, Raegyn Morton, Sariah Waples, and Gianna Waples along with a host of extended family and friends.

Erma is preceded in death by her parents, eleven brothers and sisters, her husband, Rev. Kenneth Hill and a daughter, Angie Oliver.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 21, 2024, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.

A Celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 10 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Rev. Darrel Nelson officiating. Interment will follow in Palestine City Cemetery at 2 p.m. under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
