Ernesto "Neto" Castillo, Sr., 79, beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, in Waxahachie, Texas.

Ernesto was born in Ennis, Texas, on June 2, 1943, to Manuel and Catarina (Lopez) Castillo. Ernesto grew up in Ennis, Texas and attended school here. In 1980 he married Teresa Landeros and they made their home in Ennis.

Ernesto worked for Leggett and Platt as a machinist for twenty years before opening Big E Tires over thirty-two years ago.

Ernesto was a member of LULAC of Ennis. Ernesto enjoyed western movies, watching the Yankees and whoever was beating the Cowboys.

Ernesto is survived by his wife of over forty-two years, Teresa Castillo; sons: Ernesto Castillo, Jr., Mark Castillo, Nick Castillo, Rene Castillo, Jaime Castillo and Jeff Gutirrez; daughters: Evette Castillo, Holly Castillo, Arian Castillo and Anaka Castillo; thirty-one grandchildren with two more expected soon; thirty great-grandchildren; brother, Michael Castillo; sisters: Carmen Trevino, Emily Vasquez and Susie Trevino along with a host of extended family and friends.

Ernesto is preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Rey Castillo, Manuel Castillo Desi Castillo and Raymond Castillo and sisters: Maria Delores and Eva, and granddaughter, Emmery Castillo.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 26, 2022, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel in Ennis.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at 10 a.m. at St. Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
