Ervin L. Glaspy, Jr., 81, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Wednesday, June 23, 2021.

Ervin was born in Dallas, Texas on March 22, 1940 to Ervin Lyons and Martha Jane (Rutherford) Glaspy.  Ervin graduated from Ennis High School in 1958 and went on to Texas Tech University where he received a degree in Law.  Ervin married the love of his life Jan Carnes in 1962 and they were married for fifty-four years before her passing in 2016.

Ervin was an agent for Southwestern Life insurance for fifteen years and was self employed with his own agency for over thirty years.  Ervin was a member of the Ennis Rotary Club, the Episcopal Church and Baylor Baptist Church.  Ervin loved fishing, dove hunting, reading, and bird watching.  He enjoyed all sports especially basketball.

Ervin leaves behind his loving family including sons: Trey Glaspy and wife, Kimberly and John Glaspy; daughter, Katie Arteaga and husband, Rod; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Miles Glaspy and husband, E.G. Patterson (Bud) and a host of extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jan Glaspy and a brother, John Glaspy.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 11 a.m. in the St. Thomas Episcopal Church of Ennis.
