Eva Lee Nash, 97, passed away peacefully in her home with her family by her side on September 4, 2025. She was born in Waco, Texas, on March 24, 1928 to Jesse G. and Betty Parlee (Taylor) Harding.

She met her husband, the late Harold W. Nash, in McGregor, Texas, while they were both working for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. Eva Lee and Harold were married on February 25, 1949, in Paris, Texas.

She retired from Southwestern Bell as an Operator in Ennis when they went Dial. Afterward, Eva Lee and Harold continued to live in Ennis and raise their two children, Steven Wayne and Susan Darlene. As a homemaker, she enjoyed sewing, embroidery, cooking and gardening. Throughout the years, she especially loved caring for their special pets. One of her greatest strengths was supporting her family in whatever they chose to do. After 72 years of marriage, she loved being a wife, mother, grandmother (Mamaw), great grandmother and great great grandmother. Eva Lee was a member of Anthony Drive Baptist Church where she and Harold attended church together until they were no longer able.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harold, and her two brothers, Elmo and Lewis Harding.

She is survived by her son, Steve and wife, Nancy Nash; and her daughter, Susan and husband, Ronnie Zmolek She also leaves behind a grandson, Shane (Tanya) Nash, and granddaughter, Chasati (John) Koscielniak. Great grandsons: Aarron (Meagan) Brasher, Jonathon Koscielniak and Stetson Nash. Great granddaughters: Bryonna and Skyler (Antoinette) Koscielniak. Great great granddaughter, Harlow Brasher. granddog, Sophie Grace Zmolek.

The family would like to extend their love and sincere thanks to our two special "Angel" caregivers, Kathryn and Ella, for the compassionate care they provided our mother in the last few years of her life.

After our dad passed away, Nylene, a neighbor who became a dear friend, provided mom comfort, friendship and evening meals which she always looked forward to. Mom was so blessed to have wonderful, caring neighbors surrounding her. She always was thankful and appreciative of anything anyone would do for her.

Her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren will serve as her pallbearers.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis,.

A Celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at 10 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Rev. Matt Walker officiating. Interment will follow in Myrtle Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
