Franklin Dobbs, 93, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Friday, October 16, 2020.

Franklin was born in Ennis, Texas on November 7, 1926 to L. Turner and Mary (Smith) Dobbs.

Franklin grew up in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School in 1944.  On October 31, 1950 Franklin married the love of his life Margie Reeves and they made their home in Ennis.  Franklin served his country proudly in the United States Army.

Franklin was the manager for the Sherwin-Williams store in Ennis for over thirty-two years and worked in sales for Glen Smith Carpeting for over eleven years.  Franklin was a member of the IOOF and Noon Lions Club.  He enjoyed dominoes, hunting and fishing.  Franklin was a devoted member of Baylor Baptist Church so much that the church named Dobbs Hall for him and Margie.

Franklin leaves behind his loving wife of over sixty-nine years, Margie Dobbs; sons: Randal Dobbs and Timothy Paul Dobbs; niece, Linda Daniels and a host of extended family and friends.

Franklin is preceded in death by his parents, son, Larry Dobbs, sisters; Edna Dobbs Melton, Kathryn Wilson and brother, William Dobbs.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2020 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at J.E. Keever Mortuary.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 23, 2020 at 2 p.m. in Myrtle Cemetery with Rev. Chet Hensley officiating under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
