Gary Lee Fincher, born to Garland and Mildred Sanderson Fincher on January 11, 1950, in Ennis, Texas passed away at his home in Ennis on October 28, 2021.

He graduated from Ennis High School in 1968 where he excelled at all sports and was the last four sport Letterman at EHS.

Gary worked at Flintkote Roofing Company for close to 20 years before purchasing Pool's Cleaners which relaunched as Lion Country Cleaners in 2000.  He owned the company for 37 years and became known in the community for priding himself in excellent customer service before retiring in 2017.

He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.

Gary was interested in anything that kept him outdoors: golfing, deer hunting, or watching nature.  He loved to be on the go, spending hours in his white truck personalized with maroon detail, driving to away games, trips to Paducah, or all the way to Llano just to eat at Cooper's BBQ.  He loved his family at home and in the Lion Nation.  With his giving spirit, he enjoyed grilling on his cooker for many Ennis Lions activities and showing his love for Ennis Lions Football by serving as President of the Ennis Lionbackers Football Booster Club for 14 years.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years Lindy, son, Jeffrey, sisters, and their husbands: Alice and J.B. Steele, Barbara and Dan Eves, sister-in-law, Sherrie Fincher, mother-in-law, Jo Ann Green, sister-in-law and her husband, Julie and Wayne Lee Luksa, nine nieces and three nephews, as well as his two spoiled but faithful and beloved dogs, Willie and Bo.

He is preceded in death by is parents, his newborn son, Brad, sister, Betty Aydelott, brother, Ronnie Fincher and father-in-law, Wayne Munn.

Gary would request those wishing to honor his memory do so by doing something for someone in need and supporting any sport of the Ennis Athletic department.  He wanted every team to be successful.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.

A Celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at 2 p.m. in Tabernacle Baptist Church of Ennis with Pastor Todd Gray officiating.  Pallbearers will be Shannon Biddy, Barry Crow, Carlton Eckert, Larry Fincher, Ronnie Greer, Roger Hefner, David Leach and Mike Montgomery.  Honorary pallbearers will the All EHS coaches.  Interment will follow in Myrtle Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
