Georgie Ann (Taraba) Honza, 86, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Wednesday, January 29, 2025.

Georgie was born in Ennis, Texas on August 8, 1938, to Rudolph Taraba and Hermina (Skrivanek) Taraba. Georgie grew up in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School in 1956. On July 18, 1959, she married George Louis Honza, and they made their home in Ennis.

Georgie worked for Hartford Insurance in Dallas and then worked for Ennis Business Forms until her retirement in 2013.

She was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church and SPJST.

Georgie enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she loved cruising around town with her family. She loved feeding and watching the birds in her backyard and loved collecting cardinal knick-knacks. She loved Elvis, and her favorite snacks were powdered donuts and Hersey's chocolate bars.

Georgie is survived by her daughter Janet (Honza) Graham and her husband Kelly of Ennis; her son Harold Honza and his wife Kay of Ennis; her brother Adolph Taraba and his wife Linda of Whitewright; five grandchildren: Jessica Honza-Lowey and her husband Johnny Lowey, Stephen Honza, Renee (Honza) Ramirez and her husband Adam, Shawn Graham, and Erin Graham; and six great-grandchildren: Reagan Lowey, Jonathan Lowey, Emily Ramirez, Madison Ramirez, Trenton Ramirez, and Easton Honza.

Georgie was preceded in death by her husband George, her son Kenneth Honza, her brother Raymond Taraba, and her parents.

Visitation and rosary will be held in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel in Ennis on Thursday, February 6, 2025, from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Visitation will start at 10 a.m. with Rosary led by Kelly Graham at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery with Deacon John Waedekin as Celebrant, and under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.

Pallbearers are Stephen Honza, Shawn Graham, Joshua Weeks, Alex Wensowitch, Nicolas Wensowitch, George Wensowitch, and honorary pallbearers are Michael Wensowitch, Johnny Lowey, and Adam Ramirez.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery fund through St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, or to a charity of your choice.
