Gladys Mildred Neaves, 90, passed peacefully into the arms of her savior December 26, 2020 at Legend Oaks, Ennis Texas from a recent stroke. She was born in Garrett, Texas August 26, 1930, the daughter of William Newton Hickman and Irma Price Hickman.

Gladys graduated from Waxahachie High School class of 1948. She married the love of her life, Jesse Emmitt Neaves in 1949 and they lived in Waxahachie before settling in Ennis. She worked for many years at Ennis Business Forms and following retirement, she was a friendly greeter at WalMart.

She was a faithful member of Tabernacle Church of Ennis and was active in the American Legion Auxillary. In recent years at Legends, her farorite pasttime was playing bingo and winning quarters which she saved to give her great grandsons.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Jesse Neaves and three of her four children, Jesse Neaves, Jr., James Dirk Neaves, and Sandra O'Bannon. She was one of 10 children and all her brothers and sisters predeceased her; Gene Hickman, Wallace Hickman, Newton Hickman, Zola Faye Berry, Vida Rickert, Zula Mae Martin, Zonelle Rogers, William Hickman, and Wendell Hickman.

Gladys is survived by daughter Susan J. Neaves, granddaughter Jessica O'Bannon Burns and husband, Greg, daughter-in-law Nancy Neaves, grandson Jason Neaves, great grandsons Mason Burns and wife Mary, Tanner Burns and wife Shelby Burns, great great grandson, Parker James Burns, numerous neices and nephews, and special friend and caregiver, Catherine Gannon.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 28 10:00am - 12:00pm at J.E. Keever Mortuary in Ennis, TX and graveside services will be held at Myrtle Cemetary at 2:00pm under the direction of J. E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
