Hattie Virginia "Bertha" Patak, 84, passed away in Midlothian, Texas on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.

Bertha was born in Ennis, Texas on August 30, 1940, to Frank and Hattie (Harleman) Leker. Bertha grew up in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School. On November 27, 1958 she married Frankie Joe Patak and they made their home in Ennis.

Bertha worked for Ennis Business Forms for over forty-nine years.

Bertha enjoyed all her friends stopping by for visits and spending special time with them at the Polka Festival or just a quick visit around town.

Bertha is survived by her son, Mark Patak; daughter, Judy Larson and husband, Mike; granddaughter, Cadie Larson; best friends: Susan Luksa, Jerry Santos, Michael Valek, George Galetka; several nieces and nephews and a host of extended family and friends.

Bertha is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Hattie Leker, brother, Frankie Lee Lekar and sister, Dorothy Sweatman and her husband Frankie Joe.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025, from noon until 2 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.

A Celebration of her life will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025, at 2 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Chad Spence officiating. Interment will follow in Myrtle Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc. Serving as pallbearers will be: Johnny Cruz, Carlos Cruz, Lonnie Cruz, Danny Cruz, Joseph Zhanel and Brian Heitzman.
